Hi everyone,
I remember a TAKE before that announced that the XFS kernel was officially
preemptible ready. What did this mean?
I've been reading about Robert Love's preemptible patches, and am very
interested. Does the XFS kernel's being preemptible ready mean that I can
cleanly apply Robert Love's patch for the correct kernel version on the
XFS kernel, and configure the kernel to use this feature?
I wonder: would it be too much to ask that Robert Love's preemptible
patches be incorporated into the XFS kernel already? I've been reading
about them and it looks like they're fairly stable. I know the XFS tree
has some other stuff in aside from the XFS code that is not in the
mainline kernel. I was hoping that maybe Robert Love's preemptible
patches could be one of them. But of course this is just a mini
suggestion. :)
Thanks a lot in advance! :)
