A couple people inside & outside the company are working on that... no
formal release date available.

No, probably not.

If you spin your own boot floppy with everything you need in the kernel,
perhaps the installer would proceed (as long as anaconda doesn't check
filesystem types before mounting - if so, you'd also need to create an
updates disk with tweaked anacona files).  This is probably the only
option besides doing a complete installer, and that's just off the top
of my head.  The devil's in the details, of course...
