normally U should patch a vanilla kernel with the preemption patch and
then the xfs patch, then the xfs preemtpion patch...

not really , patch -p[n] means strip [n] levels off of the path
specified in the patch file...
this means U can go and sit in the dir and dont care what its called in
the patch or local...
