Well, after seeming to again lose the /var filesystem, I went
ahead and replaced the drive where it was stored...all seems
to be well, now, with it.
So, I thought I'd go ahead and upgrade to the 2.4.5-SGI_XFS kernel.
I've downloaded each of the processor specific rpms (deciding which I'll use),
as well as the kernel headers and kernel-source packages.
I'm wondering, though, about the kernel-BOOT package. I noticed that
the SGI installer did not install that package on my system, so I was
wondering what the kernel-BOOT package is/does, and whether or not I
need it for anything.
Thanks.
