You didn't say in what way it was "lethal" - but you've essentially made
inodes that are 8X the default size, and allowed them to take up 90% of
your space - inode-heavy, if you ask me.  :)  If you're creating MANY
files very small files, you'd just be wasting a lot of space, I think. 
(although making the inodes bigger allows more data to live within the
inode...)
