Oracle 8.1.7_03 on RH 7.1 XFS 1.0 installer

Currently on my desktop, this works fine for installing with no real
modifications etc. But, on 2 scsi systems, The ./runInstaller  will segfault
several hundred times a second and the cpu utilization is at 99.8% on 1 of
the CPUs. Any information in this regard to get it to work on an SMP setup
would be very helpful.
