Mail is > critical but I can live with losses. On a server that's not very loaded, i think it's ok to run "sync" every now and then, if the data is extremely important. Run it every minute from cron, or at the end of every script that's doing funny things with your data. But if your server has a lot of disk I/O, then "sync" is not a good idea. -- Florin Andrei |
