I did a cut and paste but reformatted it a little after to fit nicely in
my Pine screen and it looks like I missed out on a little. No, I don't
have those spaces in the configure line.

Ahh, I learn something new everyday. I officially love Debian. ;>

I ran dpkg-buildpackage and found out that I did not have some required
dev packages:

dpkg-checkbuilddeps: Unmet build dependencies: libpam0g-dev, libreadline4-dev, 
libcupsys2-dev

I'm apt-getting those now and will do a Samba configure again. Hopefully
it will work.

Thank you everyone for helping me out with my not-exactly-XFS-related
problems. :)
