I got this error in my box, using kernel 2.4.5:

[root@home3 /]# mount /dev/rd/c0d0p1 /home/
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/rd/c0d0p1,
       or too many mounted file systems

-- from /var/log/messages:

Start mounting filesystem: dac960(48,1)
Starting XFS recovery on filesystem: dac960(48,1) (dev: 48/1)
XFS: xlog_recover_process_data: bad clientid
XFS: log mount/recovery failed
