That, and 6.2 is not particularly "2.4 ready" so you would need to get many other system RPMs updated to support a 2.4 kernel... see the "Changes" document in the 2.4.x kernel trees. Then, after those (and all of THEIR dependencies) have been upgraded, you could possibly install the 2.4/XFS kernel RPMs, make your XFS filesystems, and migrate your data.
