The source version compiles fine against the 2.4.6-pre1-xfs, which I am
using. Binary versions don't work against anything except what they were
compiled against.

The kernel module must be recompiled. Set it to runlevel 3 till it is
compiled. While it is blinking you can type "init 3" from a root
console. Or you can change your default runlevel at start in
/etc/inittab to runlevel 3 instead of 5 until you are done.

On a 1600x1280 desktop, 24 bit, and 1024x768 window, I'm averaging 97
