Hmm, I am running on an aix7xxx based motherboard now, the driver does compile
if you know the correct magic incantation.

Generally you need to set the configuration option to build the driver firmware
with the kernel, and in order to build the firmwaretools  you need a db-devel
package installed (db3-devel-3.1.14-6 in my case).
