There are usually two steps in this type of process, one with the controller
or volume manager telling it where the new disk should go (which device
it becomes part of). I have no experience with the DAC960, so I cannot
help with this.

Then, with the xfs filesystem mounted, you use xfs_growfs to expand the
filesystem to use the space.
