I'm not sure what you are driving at here?
Does this have something to do with XFS?

When updating rpm's I get the following error message:

[root@snoopy RPMS]# rpm -Uhv sawfish-0.39-3mdk.i586.rpm --nodeps --test
Speicherzugriffsfehler(core dumped)

Notation: 'Speicherzugrifffehler' is german for something like 'memory
access error'
This does not use to happen with every rpm but I know that it does with
all rpms replacing files from other installed packages (... conflicts
with file of ...). And a lot more

Thanks

ps: The issue to mount with -o biosize=13 did not work.

This has to do with XFS since these errors are getting more and more so I made up a second linux partition with enough tools to check my fs. After running an xfs_check on my /dev/hda2 (the main system) it said that there are a lot of errors (why? i have had ONLY clean mounts). So I thought to run xfs_repair on /dev/hda2 and it said that there was somthing to repair and it also said that everything's repaired. So, reboot the system and load /dev/hda2. And then I got a lot of errors telling me that (I guess) half of the files on my disk were not existing (very nice to get errors that no kernel-modules are available!).

Sven

ps: when trying do 'ls' directories I got the same errors as described in 'severe fs corruption'
