After some discussion by the XFS team the rpms for this latest test release
has changed direction a bit; they are now stock RH7.1 + XFS.
RedHat adds a significant amount of driver additions, bug fixes, and stability
fixes.
Since the rpm's primarily purpose is to support our RH based installer,
we felt it best to remain compatible with RH7.1.
Three patches are now available.
RHlinuux-2.4.2-core-xfs Patch against core RH7.1 linux files.
linux-2.4.2-core-xfs Patch against core vanilla 2.4.2 linux.
linux-2.4.2-xfs XFS proper; common to both
builds.
I will try to find some time this weekend to generate a core 2.4.3 patch.
Initially testing of the RH based configuration has shown XFS to be equally
as stable as vanilla 2.4.2.
Some performance differences has been observed with some benchmarks utilities,
but most performance testing shows similar results between the two kernels.
