Yes, that should work - follow the directions from Red Hat for creating
a network install source, and then do the same thing with the SGI disc -
overwriting the RPMS, the RedHat/base directory, etc.  No need to delete
the original Red Hat kernel RPMs, they will be ignored by the installer.

I'm sure you thought of this, but if you do it with symlinks you can
have the option to install either pure 7.1 or 7.1+XFS without doubling
your storage space...
