Ok, this is a bit bleeding edge, but here goes.

I've installed linux-2.4.2-SGI_XFS_0.10.1smp on
as system which has the latest Raw Hide redhat
distribution. I built a 280gig xfs file system by
raid0'ing 4 disks together.

I've NFS exported the file system.

On another PC, which is running the latest
RawHide distribution but not the XFS linux kernel
as the one above, I've tried to nfs mount this
large file system. The mount command hung the
process issuing the mount command but did not
hang either the server or the client machines.

The following message can be found in the server
log files.

Apr 5 16:28:06 phyppro1 rpc.mountd: authenticated mount request from
130.199.23.57:872 for /local.dsk/raid0/ftp/pub
(/local.dsk/raid0/ftp/pub)
Apr 5 16:28:06 phyppro1 kernel: Installing knfsd (copyright (C) 1996
okir@xxxxxxxxxxxx).

I don't think this indicates an error of anysort.

On the client machine I get in the /var/log/messages file

Apr 5 16:22:08 ssadler kernel: nfs: server phyppro1 not responding,
still trying

Does anyone one what's going on here? (Besides the obvious
that the nfs server is not responding....

Thanks. Steve.
