XFS is not an option in the default RH 7.1 installer, but we do have an
xfs-enabled version available at
ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/download/Release-1.0-test2/iso/RH7.1-SGI-XFS-0.10.3.iso
This installer is designed to be able to upgrade a Red Hat system that
is already running on XFS, but of course you should BACK UP ANY
IMPORTANT DATA before performing this upgrade.

We have fixed many bugs in the installer, so hopefully your experience
will be less painful this time around.
devfs IS a new thing, and takes some getting used to, but once you
understand how it works, it's not too bad. The most recent installer
attempts to make things a little easier, /dev/cdrom and /dev/mouse
should work out of the box by default now.
If you just can't stand it, you can always recompile the kernel with
devfs turned off.

I think the above sounds good to me. Feel free to share your views with
Red Hat as well. :)
