It was precisely a point which I wanted to see cleared up because I
use by example tux which is a patch from Ingo Molnar present only in the
kernel by the RedHat guys but not in SGI kernel (vanilla+xfs patch).
I really believe that the availability of a kernel including the RedHat
and SGI patch is essential.
Many functionalities are in general added by RedHat (tux, lvs...) -
which if they are not present any more in SGI kernel - will prevent
much administrator of migrated their machine in XFS.
