Although the bug reported only showed up when using ProFTPD, it was indeed an XFS bug. While the patch Steve uploaded yesterday did not apply cleanly, I compiled the latest linux-2.4-xfs from CVS this morning. After twelve hours of uptime, I have noticed no zero length files in the FTP server logs, and all test tansfers have been successful. Thanks to those who replied to the initial report...
