XFS and SW RAID

Hi,

I am looking at using XFS and RAID 5, I am trying to decide between the 
'extremely' hard to get hardware RAID (long story), or the easier to 
obtain software RAID.
I did read the FAQ, and from the sounds of it XFS will not work with 
software RAID, however I went through the archive and noticed that some 
people are working on it.
Is this correct?

And how much extra work needs to be done to get it working?

Any help is appreciated.
