the way to fix this is add in your /etc/modules.conf, then line
include /etc/modules.alsa
then, create this file (if it is not already there) modules.devfs:
# /etc/modules.devfs
# Richard Gooch <rgooch@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> 3-JUL-2000
#
# THIS IS AN AUTOMATICALLY GENERATED FILE. DO NOT EDIT!!!
# THIS FILE WILL BE OVERWRITTEN EACH TIME YOU INSTALL DEVFSD!!!
# Modify /etc/modules.conf instead.
# This file comes with devfsd-vDEVFSD-VERSION which is available from:
# or directly from:
#
ftp://ftp.atnf.csiro.au/pub/people/rgooch/linux/daemons/devfsd-vDEVFSD-VERSION.tar.gz
