Does XFS work at all on the ide drive with a 2.4.0 kernel?
ie ext2 root but xfs /<some spare partition> ?

BTW I just about have the latest build stuff done.
I hand modified the test11 patch to add in the device perm fix, so the /dev/*

it currently correct after reboot.

I have all but the 686 install rpms built, should be done by morning.
These kernels have devfs turned on by default.
