I can't use xfs on my computer,
why? details followed:
1. I installed a RedHat 6.2, no problem occur; 2. got
ProPack1.4.iso(282M) from ftp://patches.sgi.com/pub/linux/ProPack1.4/ISO/,
no problem occur; 3. mount ./ProPack1.4.iso ?t iso9660 ?o loop /mnt/cdrom, no
problem 4. cd /mnt/cdrom; ./INSTALL; 5. choose four package “RedHat
Specific”, “Multiprocessor”, “Kernel Development”, “XFS Commands” to install, no
problem occur; 6. run command # mkfs.xfs /dev/hda6, got error: mkfs.xfs:

xfs /mnt, got error: mount: fs type xfs not supported by kernel
8. Check /etc/lilo.conf, /boot/vmlinuz-2.2.16-4SGI_39smp is
already started. 9. Check /lib/modules/2.2.16-4SGI_39smp/fs, I found no
xfs. ???? what happened ????
But I must use very large files on my Linux, xfs maybe the
best choice. What shall I do? Please help me! I am so anxious.
