I have the same problem. My xfs test machine in the office has locked up
over the weekend, with serial console dead.

It may be possible that it is not entirely XFS fault though: 
I catched a crash earlier in kdb that was in the Realtek driver interrupt
handler. I didn't investigate it unfortunately, just recompiled the modules.

Same here. Machine was unused and it doesn't even have a XFS root,
just mounted XFS [maybe the 0:00 cron job crashed it]
