The xfs support is in the 2.4 kernel, not the 2.2 kernel - you need to install
the 2.4 kernel rpm and have your system boot this.

As for large file support, this tends to be more of an issue with glibc than
anything else. If glibc does not have large file support built in then
user space will not be able to access beyond 4 Gbytes of data in a file.
The glibc in Redhat 6.2 and beyond has the large file support built in.
