I cannot think why not, Irix parses the options in user space and
passes a structure into the kernel, it could have either behavior
their, I think I have seen cases where it skipped bogus options,
but they were cxfs ones. In the normal xfs case I suspect it 
will fail the mount on a parsing error. The linux kernel code
should do the same.
