mkfs.xfs & xfs_repair crashing?

has anybody else seen mkfs.xfs and xfS_repair crashing?

i yesterday updated my home machine to the latest xfs code and
tar'ed together the root dir - mkfs.xfs'ed with the new (libxfs)
mkfs.xfs and it crashed (core dumped) on it - so i did it with
the old (sim based) mkfs.xfs and it worked but on that fresh
filesystem the new xfs_repair core-dumped ... the old xfS_repair
worked ... has anybody else seen this behaviour with the latest
code (it was absolutely reproducable for me)?
