I know the FAQ says xfs works well on /, but I have observed this:
-On a setup using only xfs partitions, lilo will not install the mbr
correctly. This installation has no ext2 partitions. Have to use a boot
disk(xfs kernel) to boot with. Lilo does not complain when ran
-On a setup where /boot is left ext2 and everything else xfs, works
fine. I just have /boot listed as (ro,defaults) in fstab to prevent its
corruption. I also observed this during a xfs conversion - when after
dumping the ext2 system to the new xfs partitions then running lilo to
create an entry for the xfs setup while it is running on ext2 fs - But
if I reboot to xfs setup and run lilo - bad news, must use boot disk to
boot to ext2 setup and run lilo from there....
Great work so far to the team.
The kernel is the cvs version from 9/12 or 9/13. IDE drive - 450Mhz
