has anyone had any luck using the latest cvs tree (2.4.0-test5) with lvm
enabled?? i had a few test volume groups setup, and wanted to test out xfs.
however, i get a core dump when i do a vgscan with the xfs-enabled kernel
running, and vgchange -a y returns errors about /proc not being mounted and
physical devices not found on the system. the vg's are fine as far as i can
tell, booting with a xfs-disabled 2.4.0-test5 kernel works. any ideas or
suggestions??? btw, i went ahead and recompiled all my lvm tools just in
case. same problem occurred.

The lvm has several bugs in the utility programs. Take a look at the LVM site http://linux.msede.com/lvm/. You might find some patches their.

I also sent you a patch that I use that may fix your problem.
