Well, Linus has put out a preliminary 2.4 tree.
I just briefly looked at the difference between:

        2.3.99-pre9 -> 2.3.99-pre9 + pre10-3 patch
and     2.3.99-pre9 -> 2.4.0-test1

The changes don't look too elaborate (mostly signal
fixes, nfs fixes, some sparc update). Most importantly,
there are NO changes to core VM! Which, hopefully,
means that the VM problems are starting to get tackled.

XFS has been on pre2 almost exactly 2 months now.
And it seems 2.4.0-test1 is the next right kernel to move to.
Does anyone have opinions about vanilla 2.4.0-test1?
