Well this is getting offtopic for the bug, I guess, but if the fs was frozen
then this is a bit weird.
[root]# xfs_mdrestore vgdb_xfs_metadump.dump xfs.img
[root]# xfs_repair xfs.img
Phase 1 - find and verify superblock...
Phase 2 - using internal log
- zero log...
ERROR: The filesystem has valuable metadata changes in a log which needs to
be replayed.

maybe that's a result of the hack we did to dump a frozen image.
