Summary: XFS in Kernel 2.6.16.26 destroys Filesystems
           Product: Linux XFS
           Version: Current
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P1
         Component: XFS kernel code
        AssignedTo: xfs-master@xxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: stefan@xxxxxxxxx

Hello!

We're running about 350 XFS Filesystems on about 300 machines. Since
Kernelbugs from Saturday we've updated alle machines to 2.6.16.26 from
2.6.15.x. After updating in the last 24 hours we've had 35 crashes of XFS
Filesystems on different machines - the machine completely hangs up. And
xfs_repair always report Xfs can't read block 16777216 inode xyz. The block is
always the same on any machine.

The only ways to fix it is to use xfs_db -x -f /dev/disk inode x write
core.mode 0 and then a xfs_repair again.

Perhaps it is a failure in xfs_repair too, cause it cannot fix it. But it
could not be normal, that since the new Kernel there are 35 machines crashing
in 24 hours. They all run fine with 2.6.15.x.

Please help FAST! Thanks a lot.

Stefan Priebe
