Directory quotas were recently introduced with IRIX 6.5.28. The feature allows
you to set a maximum size for a specific directory and its subdirectories,
rather than quotas set on a user or group basis. This is a fabulous feature for
those of us who tend to make single / partitions yet would like to have controls
on the sizes of things like /var and /home.

Hoping to see this feature ported to the Linux XFS code soon!
