Dear Sirs:
We are wondering if we should switch kernel from 2.4.21 to 2.4.27.
We are using Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 3. Its base kernel version is
2.4.21 and Red Hat supports only this kernel version. We would like to
install XFS on these servers with 2.4.21 kernels, but as far as we see the
ChangeLog of the latest version 2.4.27, there seems to be many fixes for
XFS.
Is it possible to install XFS onto 2.4.21?
What is the major issues we would have if we would not upgrade the kernel
2.4.21 to 2.4.27?
What is your recommendation? Give up Red Hat's support and take the latest
kernel?
Best Regards,
