Great point, thanks for bringing it up.

The current git code doesn't expose individual devices so there's
nothing to fix there. What is needed is someone (tm) to implement an
enhancement to expose those per-device metrics should they be deemed
interesting/needed (which seems to be the case) in the most robust
manner (which now is obvious: instead of dynamic metric names I
initially proposed use instances).

I'll try to have a look at this in a week or two.
