----- Original Message ----- > [...] > Is there some reason not to simply switch to libcurl? > Yes, there are many reasons: it didn't support af_unix until recently (and we always want that, not just sometimes); its not always present (we support many platforms, we need pmdaapache to always keep working and I'd prefer to switch away from http_fetcher completely here), and finally its complete over-kill for the lightweight, small, and simple needs we have in PCP for extracting stats. IOW, the reasons the original pmdaapache author (not me) used a small embedded http client are all still valid. cheers. -- Nathan |
