I have a fix pending, but it is pretty ugly. dh_strip now has a new and undocumented --no-automatic-dbgsym option ... but we have no conditional controls in debian/rules.

I am asserting that we don't want or need these debugging symbol packages (developers have other options, users at large in PCPland tend not to post bugs for which these would have proved useful in the past).

Or at least we don't want them until the case is compelling enough to unravel what extra magic and spells we need to make the packaging work ... out of the box this is not a happy experience as of today.
