The situation right now seems in some ways pessimal:
- some scripts are ported to both python{2,3}, some aren't
- scripts are not mechanically tested for both, so even if
  they were ported once, they may not stay that way
- scripts do not declare what version they have been tested
  with; "pcp python" obscures it further
