I've been thinking about Parfait a bit lately, I'd like to migrate the
Mercurial repository & Google Code "site" over to Github under the PCP banner
organization. It would make more sense from a marketing perspective and align
with the existing git'ness of pcp, and the pcp.io site.
Right now Parfait does not build with Java 7 (it seems to require Java 6), and
since Aconex (finally) migrated to Java 7 it would be ok to fix that up
properly too.
I would then like to either branch, or start from scratch on a new mechanism
for metrics to write to the MMV format. Attempt to keep the in-process metric
collection separate from the exporting to MMV as much as one can. The
abstraction around the Instance Domain is going to be the sticking point, I
think the general metric value system otherwise ought to be ok.
I would hope this aligns with the other email I recently sent around other
customers using Java benefiting from the PCP ecosystem.
Anyway, if you have any thoughts on these matters, let me know, I'll start by
preparing the Mercurial->Git repo migration soon. Nathan et al, I will likely
need to discuss with you permissions (or handover of repo) to allow the new git
remote under the PCP Github area.
cheers,
Paul
