I think this should be straightforward (and mostly implemented already). The missing piece would be to add support to pmlogger for the -A/--align option that the other client tools already support... some pmlogger code would be needed to delay until that initial time alignment is reached (a little bit like its "linger" mode, but with a timeout, and then proceeding with logging as normal.
