Strip any domain part from hostname(1) output ... e.g. if hostname
is vm08.localdomain, avahi reports this as vm08.local

For --- attempt N --- lines, show from which remote host the command
that failed was run (the problem is sometimes there, not here).

Makepkgs - debian build, don't try to sign packages
... unless you're login is "nathans".
Was causing non-zero exit for me on some platforms, which killed
the pcp-daily QA runs.
