Thanks for the patch.  But based on inspection (not actually trying the 
patch!), this does not appear to be a debian packaging (dependency) problem, 
but I have the same issue on 4 or 5 (can't remember) QA hosts now, so I'm going 
to have to figure out what the root cause is.

For at least one of the QA machines, there is no more recent libmicrohttpd 
package available from the standard distro repository, so I think we need a fix 
for the unmunged installation case.
