Just a quick note on this - recently the Infiniband PMDA was added into
the PCP dev branch and in a way that might help your efforts here.  The
packaging produces pcp-pmda-infiniband (deb/rpm) with the external shlib
dependencies on just that sub-package.

Feel free to use that PMDA as a model for your additions - it feels like
it has some similarities to what you're working on, in terms of how to
integrate it in with the rest of the build.
