gethostbyname() returns "Resolver Error 0 (no error)" for
hostnames like no.such.host for my openSUSE 11.4 and DNS set
up ... map to the error message seen on other platforms

374 PCP 4.0 changes for pmcd PMDA
Since some of the old PDU types have gone away in PCP 4.0, so have the
counters pmcd.pdu_in.datax and pmcd.pdu_out.datax -- filter accordingly
