Quick check reveals few places where pmcd PMDA was a bit naive about
memory management - see leaks branch on git://oss.sgi.com/makc/pcp.

It does not fix all the leaks - there are 3 leaks reported by leaks(1)
after fetching all metrics on Mac OS X which I cannot pin down yet but
it covers the most problematic ones.
