This is largely done already - the Debian packages put
things in /etc/{pmcd,pmlogger,pmie}/*.

But James, why don't you just type "./Makepkgs" and use
the resulting .dmg file instead of worrying about files
being "splatted" on your root?  (that gives you a neat
little package you can install/uninstall all at once).

I had no idea that I could do that :) I'll give it a shot ...
