I believe everything is working correctly in my git tree as of a few moments
ago (including view save/load) - let me know if you see anything that is
still
not functioning correctly.

Hmm. It does seem to me that vertical-inside-of-horizontal is a better way
to go than horizontal-inside-of-vertical ... but it will be good to have a
look
at your prototype and try it out, as its much easier to get a feel for
these sort
of things when you can interact with the thing.

Not sure I follow that ... I'd imagined multiple time x-axes along the base
of the display, in the same location as the current single time axis - so, no
additional vertical space would be used.
