Silly question probably - you removed the crontab entry running
the original pmie_check though, right?  (i.e. it was definately
the new script that started these duplicates?)

The -V -V output would be really useful, thanks - I'll keep looking
at the script, but that output would give me several more hints as
to the root cause.
