Instead of writing a PMDA (it seems too complicated for my
small task), I installed the "trace" PMDA, and put my data
in there.
cd /var/pcp/pmdas/trace
./Install
pmtrace -q -v $CURRENT_TEMP roomtemp
pmval -i roomtemp trace.observe.value
